3M Strapping Tape 8898 is a filament-free, 4.6 mil stiff blue polypropylene film tape with a synthetic rubber adhesive. The absence of filaments sets it apart from reinforced strapping tapes, eliminating fiber contamination risk on finished goods and sensitive components while still delivering a firm, reliable bond.
This tape is well-suited for bundling, coil tabbing, carton reinforcement, and in-transit component securing across manufacturing, electronics assembly, automotive parts distribution, and warehouse fulfillment environments. Its stiff backing resists tearing and breaking even when nicked or punctured during handling, maintaining hold through the full shipping cycle.
Each roll is 1/2 inch wide by 60 yards long and approximately 2.38 lbs. Cases contain 12 rolls and ship via parcel carrier.
