3M Strapping Tape 8898 is a 4.6 mil stiff blue polypropylene film tape with a synthetic rubber adhesive and no filaments. The rigid backing resists breaking or tearing even when nicked or punctured during handling, distinguishing it from standard strapping tapes that rely on fiberglass reinforcement to maintain integrity.
This tape is well suited for bundling, small coil tabbing, and securing loose parts or components during transit. Manufacturing lines, distribution centers, and electronics assembly operations use it to hold mixed loads of corrugated, plastic, and metal components without switching between adhesive types.
Each roll measures 3/4 inch wide by 60 yards long and carries a 4.6 mil total thickness. Cases are packed 48 rolls and ship via parcel carrier.
