3M Strapping Tape 8898 is a 4.6 mil stiff blue polypropylene film tape, 1 inch wide by 60 yards per roll, coated with a synthetic rubber adhesive and no filament reinforcement. The blue film resists tearing and breaking even when nicked or punctured during handling, providing consistent hold without the bulk or cost of reinforced filament tape.
This tape is well suited for bundling components, tabbing coils, securing parts and sub-assemblies during transit, and general light-duty strapping tasks in manufacturing, distribution, and fulfillment environments. The synthetic rubber adhesive bonds reliably to metal, plastic, corrugated, and similar surfaces commonly encountered across these settings.
